Permanent Residency
As a Permanent Resident (PR), you can live, work and conduct business without restrictions in Australia. Permanent Residents have similar if not most of the rights and entitlements available to an Australian citizen.
One of these entitlements is the eligibility to access Medicare (Australian National Health Scheme) and other social security benefits such as Centre link etc. Permanent Residents may also be eligible to sponsor their family members or parents for a permanent visa, depending on circumstances and visa requirements.
As a Permanent Resident, you would also be eligible to apply for citizenship once you have satisfied certain residential requirements.
